Backyard furniture With Pallets and Fence wood.

We had some fence work going on when we were working on this project and decided to make legs using fence logs and table out of fence door.

Seatings were made out pallets. I already had left over blue paint.

Only thing we got was a outdoor cushions from Home Depot/Lowes.

Desi Low-height table.

I had a long living area to which I decided to partition to present a modern and traditional parts.

One part that was suppose to be Indian traditional was arranged to look desi by arranging Bhartiya Baithak (Low seating with round thick-pipe-like cushions and regular cushions). With this I was looking for a very low height table.

It was kinda really impossible to find a table with low height and still not look very modern here in USA.  I did find many traditional Indian tables with good wood carvings but they were either very tall or they were not blending very well with rest.

I had a vision of how my traditional side should look like and I was working in that direction to bring it closest to it.

And I came with an idea of converting a pallet to a table. Yes pallet is almost the height I was looking for.  Decided to attach wheels to the pallet and make it of good height and movable in case my husband wants to play Kinect standing in front of the TV.

Now only part I was left with was to give a traditional desi look.  I somehow had these metal tiles in the back of my mind which could make things look traditional.  Metal ceiling tiles that you can find almost in all the stores like Home Depot, Lowes etc.  I ordered a roll of one them and wrapped it over the pallets after throughly cleaning it.

And this is what came out.

With this I thought why not create a modern version too.  So that both modern and traditional side blend well with each other.  Hence another table was made with 2 pallets with an idea that top pallet rotates over bottom.

We were not left with enough roll of the metal tile. But I had a left over wallpaper. We wrapped the top with metal tile and bottom halves with wallpaper.

These tables were ready to use after placing a glass over the top of each.
